Careca group established public lighting as a key target of its technological innovation policy, by installing street lamps in several local, national and international realities. Since the first demo installation in Scandiano (2007), it was clear that this was the way to go that was confirmed by the efficacy tests carried out during the following years which proved those installations met the 50% expected energy saving and dramatic light pollution reduction.

Energy saving is just one of LED technology’s benefits in the public lighting, amongst direct and indirect advantages are improved road safety, guaranteed by the white LED light, allowing excellent visibility even with fog, low maintenance needs and the total absence of toxic substances. Last but not least, LED’s have a very low running temperature, down to -40°C and have no start up time.
