In spring 2009 Carecaled realized the street light installation for the new Via Serra roundabout in Canali, Reggio Emilia.
The original project had a 25 metres high lighting tower right in the middle of the roundabout with 100Wh or 400Wh HPS light fixtures for an expected power consumption of approximately 18.000Wh.
The difficulties of this project were mainly related to the size of the roundabout (over 100m diameter) and the need to realize a low environmental impact solution, due to the prestigious residential area close by so a different lighting solution was chosen.
Carecaled solution has been to install 18 180W G1 street lamps on 10mt high poles placed all around the roundabout perimeter, for supplying the same amount of light, with a power absorption of only 4.000Wh.
Carecaled lighting installation was carried out in full compliance with current regulations and allowed to achieve an excellent light distribution across the entire roundabout.
The estimated energy saving achieved, given the original project, is over 7000€ per year.
